History

Remei Tanzania Ltd started its operation in Tanzania as an organic cotton project in 1994 initiated by Mr Patrick Hohmann with its objective to improve small farmers’ livelihood through organic farming of cotton and other crops. and it was the first organic cotton project in Tanzania. In the year 2,000 it was formally registered as company and started to operate in three villages namely Ng’hoboko, Bulyashi and Mwamishali in Meatu District. The company continued to expand the villages and went up to another district in Maswa, and today the company is working in 32 villages with 2,200 farmers on contract basis both in Meatu and Maswa districts.
